When you receive this image on launching POSitive Point of Sale after it was working perfectly the previous day it might be because your PC restarted and the PostgreSQL Service did not start.


To Resolve:

  1. Click on the Search icon next to the Windows Start icon or click the Windows Key on your keyboard and type "services" 
  2. Click the Services App
  3. Look for the "postgresql-9.3 - PostgreSQL Server 9.3" name under the Standard Tab
  4. If the status does not indicate "Running" then right click on it and select Start.
  5. This should resolve the issue
